When Colleen asked if we could do a Mommy and me session for Jack’s three month milestone, I was so excited!! The weather was still warm but the leaves had started to change color. We met back at Washington Lake Park, where we also did Colleen’s maternity session. This time, with a 3 month old, we didn’t want to chance a ‘golden hour’ session, so we met up at 10am. Wait?? What?? Yes, this session was shot at 10am on a bright and sunny fall morning. Being a children photographer, especially of small children, I had to learn to adjust to shooting in the least desirable light. Or, at least know my locations so I can make use of some great shade! I love being challenged and testing my abilities. Don’t ever let a photographer pressure you to only doing sessions at sunset! (Disclaimer – for sessions down the shore and on the beach, I will only shoot later in the day to avoid the crowds of people! Plus, there is NO shade on the beach lol)
Now, back to this session. Colleen messaged me that she had matching outfits for her and Jack. This isn’t uncommon, but I was definitely curious how she was going to pull it off with a son. Why oh why, I screamed when she stepped out of the car! They were dressed PERFECTLY! I couldn’t have picked out better outfits. Of course, MomMom had to jump in at the end of the session to grab a few pictures with her first grandchild!
I really need to start doing more Mommy and Me sessions…. I smell a mini session weekend in May!
